On 8 October the University of Bordeaux set-up an experiment which contributes to several work packages (5, 6 and 8) of the COCKLES project. The experiment was set-up on the Banc d’Arguin, an intertidal sand bank situated in Arcachon Bay along the French Atlantic coast.

At low tide, at around 8? AM, we started to dig the cages in the sediment.

Then we had to look for cockles.. 3000 in total of a similar size were required!

But we managed, and I was very happy!
